Maintenance Fitter Supervisor for work in Mackay

TACPRO are seeking a practical and hands on Maintenance Fitter Supervisor to join our client in Mackay (Paget). This is a fulltime position, Monday-Friday role which means you would be home every night.

The Maintenance Fitter is accountable for all maintenance and repair work that is carried out on the Company’s automated polyurethane dispensing machines. This role will act as a key conduit between client requests and manufacturing operations to ensure that the Company is able to meet the changing and varied needs of clients.

Reporting to the Factory Manager, the Maintenance Fitter will maintain sound knowledge of pneumatic systems and strict adhesion to scheduled maintenance plans to ensure effective and efficient utility of all plants and equipment.

Core Tasks

Machinery Operation & Maintenance

▪ Performing maintenance and repair on plant and equipment

▪ Complete all fabrication requirements according to technical drawings

▪ Be on call for machine breakdowns after hours

▪ Accurately complete and record work orders for all breakdowns

▪ Diagnose faults / problems and identify appropriate courses of action


▪ Ensure all plant and equipment met the required fabrication specifications

Materials & Stock Management

▪ Calibrate and maintain material levels in Polyurethane Dispensing Machines

▪ Take control of material stock levels

▪ Maintain critical spare parts stock levels for plant equipment

OHS & Housekeeping

▪ Adhere to all OHS and Quality Assurance policies

▪ Ensure that the workshop and work areas are kept in a clean and tidy manner to create a safe work environment that eliminate any hazards


▪ Commit to working to and encouraging high standards of integrity and behaviour aligned with the core values of the business


· 8-10 years’ experience in role or similar

· Ability to read plans and schedules

· Operate conventional milling machine and lathe

· Ability to interpret engineering drawings

· Experience in using power tools

· Demonstrated use of pneumatic and welding equipment

· Sound knowledge of pneumatics and pneumatic control systems

· Must hold a current forklift license (or willing to obtain)

· Ability to fabricate tooling and equipment to technical drawings

· Ability to demonstrate skills in machining and trouble shooting

· Demonstrated high level problem solving and analytical skills

· Demonstrated ability to multi-task when undertaking various workloads

· Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels

· Able to work effectively as part of a team
